Denis and Catherine McNeill

The 1851 Census records, show that Denis McNeill was born in 1803 and his wife Catherine in 1811. The Census, which was carried out at Rasharkin in Co. Antrim. Ireland., shows Denis to be a Farmer.
Living with them are 8 children: Ann, born in 1837; Archibald, born in 1839; Patrick, 1841; Denis, 1843; Stewart, 1845; Hugh, 1846; Charles, 1848 and William, born in ccR>

Ann McNeill 1837-

Archibald McNeill 1839-
Archibald was born in 1839 in Co. Antrim. He was married to Rosetta McAuley of Glenarm Co. Antrim who was the daughter of Nancy Snoddy and her husband. We have found three children so far: Ann, born on 3 April 1864 at Glenarm; Hugh born on 27 January 1866 at Glenarm and John born on 15 May 1867 also at Glenarm.

Patrick McNeill 1841-
Patrick was born in Co.Antrim in 1841. He married Isabella McMullen, of Lisnamanny the daughter of John & Nancy McMullen. We have traced two children: Stuart, Christened on 28 May 1871 at Rasharkin RC and Denis who was Christened on 25 December 1873 at Rasharkin RC.

Hugh McNeill 1846-
Hugh McNeill was born in Antrim, Ireland, in 1846. He was married to Bridget McQuade, who was born at Pomeroy in Co. Tyrone, Ireland, in 1846. After their marriage they continued to live at Pomeroy where their first two children were born: John in 1866 and Mary in 1868.
Between the years 1868-1872 they emigrated to England where two more children were born at Consett, Co. Durham: My grandfather Hugh 1872 and Ellen in c1874. A fifth child was born at Dungannon in Ireland in 1877. At the time of the 1881 census there were all living in Cuthbert Street, Winlaton, Co. Durham, where Hugh was employed as a General Labourer and their son John was an apprentice Glassmaker.
